IT'S HERE!!!

I'm so happy. After nearly a week of not so patiently waiting Lyle is here.

After opening the box up and holding him in my hands I knew I had chosen the right name for him.

Lyle is a BEAUTIFUL new 13 inch MacBook Pro. He has a 2.53 gig hrtz processor, 4 gb of memory, and a 250 gb hard drive.

I'm very happy. I've got everything I want on it and still have plenty of room for anything else I may want to put on him and not have to worry about not having any space.

Isn't it funny that I worry about hard drive space now when our first computers were like 20 mb.

Lils seems to have a problem with him. She's jealous of my spending so much time on him I guess. Not surprising if she is. LOL.

There are a few new things on this computer that I need to get used to, such as the touch pad. There is not button like on a regular touchpad. The whole touchpad is the button. And you can do different things with it like moving things around with your fingers like you do on an iTouch. It's awsome!

So now my lovely lyle just needs a new case/skin to protect him and he's getting a new computer bag. I've already looked and know what I'm getting. I'll let you know about that later.

Saying Goodbye...

Tonight was Erin's last night at our house. She has to return to Ft. Mohave tomorrow and start school next week. I've had so much fun having her here the last 2 weeks. After spending so much time apart it was so great being with her again. It will be quiet and lonely in the house with just being me and mom during the day, but it will also be nice to have the house be just us again after the last 6 weeks.

It turned into such a great night. The day was pretty quiet, but this evening Jeremy, Jenn and the kids came over and hung out. Lils ate another lizard (or at least made him lose his tail). The kids and Jeremy played in the pool, we had pizza and hot wings and soda, and talked and listened to music all night.
Erin pulled out the boondoggle and jeremy taught her how to do some new designs. Not really bracelets like she's been doing, but something different.
It was like old times again. Just laughing and having fun. They left after 10.30 to take the kids home and get them to bed.
I love it when the kids don't want to leave. Ashley said, "but when we go home that means we have to go to bed." How cute is that?

Tonight is also the last night with my precious Harvey. Tomorrow he goes with Erin to his new home. I've had Harvey for 2 years now. He got me thru lots of testing, a hospital stay, 6 months of chemo, a move, and much, much more. He will be missed muchly. My computer is basically my life. So this is a huge thing for me. I know I'm probably just totally insane and all, but I will really miss my cute little Harvey.

I am getting my new laptop on Monday. I'm truely excited about it. I thought that I already had him named (Lyle), but after playing with Dad's new iTouch i may have to change his name. I'm not for positive on that yet. I'll let you know on Monday after I've played with it.

Tuesday Tunes on Friday...

Yes, I know... It's Friday and I should be doing Follow Friday, but I've been listening to this song over, and over, and over again and I just had to post the lyrics. Oh, and being my 150th post I wanted it to be a little special.

Erin Jean at Tales From The Armpit is my adorable 16 year old cousin, who is more like my niece than anything. I feel like we've grown up together, even tho there is a 16 year age difference between the two of us. She is one of my very best friends. Her favorite band is Blue October. Because of her obsessiveness over the years I've started listening to them myself. I recently downloaded their newest album Approaching Normal, released march of 2009, and fell in love with this song.

I'm bad. I play it on repeat all the time. I swear in the last 2 days it has like 20 plays on it on my iPod... I can't even tell you the number of times I've listened to it on my computer. So now I'm making you all listen to it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Picking Up Pieces
Blue October (2009)

I really need to talk with you
I keep stepping on the vein
That keeps my lifeline flowing thru
I wanna be your perfect stick of glue
But I don’t feel perfect at all
Sad and insecure flaw

I find it hard to hold conversations
I get sweaty sick and I wanna walk away
Its not you its strictly me in this situation
But, I’m wondering will it ever go away…
just go away, still...

Sometimes I feel like weeping
awake and when I’m sleeping
perfecting how to put a game face on

This puzzle I’ve been keepinghas been in hiding creeping out the closet door
spilling out onto the floor

How long will I be picking up pieces?
How long will I be picking up my heart?

Listen, I’ll be as honest as I feel
I feel like I’m getting more paranoid cause I’m hearing things
And they never turn out real
It feels like my heart is made of pure steel
It’s just so heavy all the time

I’m scared of death
And I’m scared of living
I gave up on the past cause it’s unforgiving
I misplaced my trust
I watched my word begin to rust
I’m a balloon about to bust
I need a place for reliving. Still...

Sometimes I feel like weeping
awake and when I’m sleeping
perfecting how to put a game face on
this puzzle I’ve been keeping
has been in hiding creeping out the closet door
spilling out onto the floor

How long will I be picking up pieces?
How long will I be picking up my heart?
be picking up my heart?
be picking up my heart?
picking up my heart?
picking up my heart?
picking up my heart?
Keep picking up my heart...

How long (in another space and time)
Keep picking up pieces in the corner of my mind
How long (its getting oh so hard to find)
Keep picking up pieces in the corner of my mind

But I still walk on

I'm in love...

The other day a new computer was ordered for me. As a free gift with purchase from the online Apple store we got an 8 gb iTouch. I told dad that I didn't want it, and he could have it.

The iTouch arrived today. After playing with it I want one.

It's so pretty, and fun and pretty and there is so much to do on it and it's so much like an iPhone and yeah. I want one. I now want a 32 gb iTouch. I no longer care that it is only 32 gb. I no longer want more room on an iPod. I no longer care.

The thing is just too damn sexy!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I've seen it 3 times now. Yes.... You heard me right, 3 times.

The first time was the Midnight Showing last month. Then just this past week Erin, Jenn and I went together for a girls night. Erin asked me last night if we could go see it again. I said yes.

I love it. I think it's the best one so far. There are little things that bother me, but the more I see it the more they just blend and I love it.

There is this one part near the end that makes me jump. I've seen the damn movie 3 times and I KNOW that it is coming, yet I still jumped.

Severus and Draco have been two of my favorite characters from the very beginning of this series. After watching this movie it just cemented that decision.

I LOVE IT!

I hope those of you who have seen liked it also. If not... go see it again. Erin said it's even better the second time!

NaBloPoMo...

Yes... I'm trying again this month. But this time I've really got to try. I have a goal to do 4 of these this year. and so far I've only got 2 done, and 5 months left of the year. The faster I can get it done, the easier things will be for me come the holiday season.

This month's theme is Tomorrow.

My Dad says there is no such thing as tomorrow.

Tuesday Tunes

So... sometimes I become a little obsessed about things - I know, i know. what else is new. - So right now I can't stop listening to people who were on American Idol. Right now it has been Blake Lewis, Brooke White, David Archuleta, David Cook, Michael Johns, Kris Allen, and Adam Lambert (i know right. The more I listen to adam the more i like him. *grrr* I'm also drinking diet PEPSI. I'm sick. just sick...) just to name a few. I 've downloaded most of their albums and listened to them over and over again. One song that I keep getting stuck in my head is David Cook's A Daily AntheM

Like I said before. David Cook was an American Idol contestant in 2008, and the Winner of Season 7's American Idol. He was one of my favorites from the beginning. I also loved the other David, Brooke, and Michael.

Prior to Idol David released an album called Analog Heart which is really good, and I have a few different songs on there that I love to listen to, but the song A Daily AntheM from his self titled album is one that gets in my head and just stays. It makes me feel good about music and how powerful and moving something can be. How inspirational and how listening to it as loud as I can handle it in my ears (have I mentioned that I've blown out yet another pair of earbuds) can make me feel good, and sing at the top of my lungs when I'm alone in the car is just fun. How hard work and determination can bring something really really good forward!

A Daily AntheM
Daivid Cook (2008)

Break your neck for some substance
This is temporary sanity, an exercise in vanity
So long, to the ordinary day wrought with fictitious tales
Of how there's any other way
Hold on to anything at all
It's a long way down between the summer and the fall
If I told you that you're everything,
Would you sing along?
Would you sing along?

It's a daily anthem
Would you sing my song,
At the top of your lungs?
And we'll all sing along,
We'll all sing along
It's a half-faith blessing
For the lessons I've learned,
Never deserved.
And we'll all sing along,
We'll all sing along

Now the verses take hold,
A gentle undercurrent of more years to grow old
Say goodbye to the cold
And try to forgive everything this night
As we sing your daily anthem,
Would you sing my song,
At the top of your lungs?
And we'll all sing along,
We'll all sing along
It's a half-faith blessing
For the lessons I've learned,
Never deserved.
And we'll all sing along,
We'll all sing along

Tuesday Tunes

Okay, so it has been a while since I've posted a new Tuesday Tune. And yes, I'm going to post another Rob Thomas song.

Last week his new album Cradlesong dropped. I am soooo excited about this album. First off it's one of my very favorites, Rob Thomas, and another, it's new music that I love to listen to, and don't you just get excited when new music from someone you love is being released? Doesn't it give you butterflies?

There are so many different songs from Rob (or matchbox twenty for that matter) that I love. But today I'm going to introduce you to the "song of the album".

I hope you enjoy...

Cradlesong
Rob Thomas (2009)

Everybody's got a different story
Everybody wanna give their selves away
but I'm still afraid
we can stay out of their field of vision
if we can keep ourselves a half a world away
ah honey we'll be ok

the world can be so cruel
but I will sing for you
this cradle song
all night long

everybody's got their own opinion
everybody's got a place were they belong
like a favorite song
and I dont want to be a faded memory
I dont want to be the ghost that you cant shake
I want to be the real thing

the world can be so cruel
but I will sing for you
this cradle song
all night long

yeah all night long

yeah all night long

ooohhhh

ohhhhhh

ohhhhh

no one said we were victims honey
no one said we had to keep the things we get
there aint no regrets
and all our friends, they moved to Hollywood
but we aint that desperate yet

oh no
aint nothing like the real thing

the world can be so cruel
well let me sing for you
this cradle song
all night long

the world can be so cruel
but I will sing for you
this cradle song
all night long

this cradle song
this cradle song

yeah all night long

sing it all night long

yeah all night long

sing it all night long

yeah yeah

all night long

The RDC Fallen Comrade Fund

Passing on this information for a friend, and fellow blogger:

The RDC Fallen Comrade Fund Help out a fallen artist...

Teresa, Liz, and Adam

ABOUT THE REVOLVING DOOR COMMUNE:

In June 2003, Teresa moved into a house unlike any other. A house with magically low rent and an ever-rotating cast of characters made up primarily of actors, writers, visual artists, and vagabonds…a house in which creative juices flow, and drama abounds…a house in which even guests are made to feel like family.

First dubbed The Revolving Door Artist Commune, it was later named The Revolving Door Commune for Itinerant Artists by the sister of one of its current inhabitants because, well, who doesn’t love the word “itinerant?”

This blog is a reflection of all the talent, brilliance, and humor of this unique group of housemates and their talented, brilliant, funny cohorts. Stick around. You might learn something. At the very least you’ll be entertained. At the very, very least, you’ll arrive at some vague, schadenfreude-like pleasure.

License Plates...

My cute little Jetta is now an Arizona Licensed car, and it was so easy, at least on my end.

Dad took it in to get inspected on the way home from work one day. Apparently it was an in and out thing, and wasn't that much of a hassle, which is a good thing cause dad and hassle don't go together.

I took it to the DMV, got into a VERY long line to get a number. The line went fast, I got my number, and then my number got called. Since it is an "out of state" vehicle getting a new license plate I had to get a VIN inspection on it. Well me not reading the signs as I first got there had to leave the nice man at the booth, get into my car, drive around to the side of the building, get a VIN inspection, and then go back in the building, which got even fuller while I was outside for 10 minutes. I was lucky tho. The nice guy in the booth told me to come right back to him after I got the inspection and he would help me out again.

I have no luck with the DMV... they can never seem to find things that belong to me, or say that i sold vehicles, or um... they cant find the MSRP in any of the books, or on the computer, for a car that I have owned for 4 years. After 15 mins of waiting and looking thru book after book we finally found out the info we needed and I had a new license plate on my car. I've been here for nearly 8 months and I officially have a AZ license plate, and an AZ drivers license and Mom and Dad may own a house here soon. Looks like I have a new place of residence.

Thursday Favorites

This week's favorite:My new Sony Cyber-shot camera.

I've been searching for a camera for ages. I've never had a camera that was all my own. Oh, i've had hand me downs. But never just one of my own.

I'm so excited about it. I can now take pictures of anything and everything I want. I can carry it in my purse and just whip it out whenever. It's GREAT!

Random Wednesdays

Lets see what kind of random stuff is in my head this week.

~ I'm going to try and do NaBloPoMo again for the month of July. Try being the operative word.

~ My new meds suck. I have to start really watching what I eat. I've gained 8 lbs in the last 3 weeks. Yes, a lot of it is my fault cause all I do lately is eat, eat, eat and sugar seems to be my favorite thing. So yeah. Watching what I eat now. And going to try to exercise.

~ Got license plates for my car. It is now officially an Arizona car.

~ Lils caught a gopher and killed him this past week

~ Watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer from the beginning. I've forgotten how fun this show was. Makes me remember and miss my friends.

~ Got a library card about a month ago. I LOVE the library. I've checked out tons of books and audio books. Its so much fun to be able to go get anything I want again.

~ I applied, and was accepted, to Glendale Community College. I'll be taking a few classes this fall if I can get the financial aid all situated. They have a Graphic Design program that I think will be fun.
