Tuesday Tunes on Wednesday: Christmas Pipes

I woke up this morning thinking it was Tuesday... I swear that it was. But I was just told that it is in fact Wednesday. SO, all morning I've thinking of songs for this week's Tuesday Tunes, just to be told that it's Wednesday.

But since I've already decided on a song, and I need to really change my song cause it's been the same for weeks, I'll post Tuesday Tunes on Wednesday and Random Wednesday will be back next week.

One of my favorite Christmas songs is a new one I discovered last year.

I got the Celtic Woman Christmas CD for my Grandmother last year. Loved it so much I had to get it for myself. It has become one of my very favorites. I love listening to these women sing. Their voices blend so well together and they just make me happy.

Anyway... LOVE this song. Love the music, love the words, just love this song. I hope you enjoy it!

Christmas Pipes
Sung by Celtic Woman

Words and music by Brendan Graham

Christmas pipes, Christmas pipes
Calling us home on Christmas night

Call us from far, call us from near
Oh play me your Christmas pipes

Christmas bells, Christmas bells
Over the hills and over the dells
Ringing out bright, ringing out clear
Oh ring me your Christmas bells

Christmas strings, Christmas strings
Playing the peace that Christmas brings
Fiddle and bow, gentle and low
Oh play me your Christmas strings

Christmas choir, Christmas choir
Christmas carols 'round Christmas fire
Holy night, angels on high
Round up your Christmas choir

Christmas band, Christmas band
You're waiting for me with your Christmas band
Cymbal and drum, rattle and hum
March out your Christmas band

Christmas pipes, Christmas pipes
Calling us home on Christmas night
Call us from far, call us from near
Oh play me your Christmas pipes

Good to be home to your Christmas
Good to be home to your Christmas
Good to be home to your Christmas pipes

Hello December...

Hello December, On the warm and pleasing sunny day. Together with azure cloudless skies No coats to wear, or hats to bear just the Soothing warmth of the sun so high And when evening falls, a billion stars will Come out and blanket the vast desert sky.

Thankful Sunday...

I'm thankful for family

I'm thankful for good friends all over the world

I'm thankful I didn't hurt myself worse than I did after a fall yesterday.

I'm thankful for pain medication.

A night with the kids...

Last night I got the opportunity to spend the night out in Buckeye. I just don't do that enough.

Jenn and Jeremy were going out on a double date with another couple, some very good friends. So they needed a babysitter. Yesterday, as you know, was my parents wedding anniversary, so no spending the night at Gramee and Grumpy's.

We spent the night watching Doctor Who (their choice I swear), eating carmel popcorn, and discussing the fact that us girls are wimps and can't handle a fan on, while the window is open, in 55 degree weather. We talked about how awesome Captain Jack Harkness is. We talked about how funny the new doctor was (watched end of season 1 and first part of season 2). OH, and Ashley's boyfriend is still David Archuleta.

Like I said. It was a great time. I love spending the night out there. I love spending time with the kids.

Thursday Favorite

Today's Thursday Favorite is QT's Freezoni

Multiple choice question: What is Freezoni?

a. New brand of equipment to resurface hockey rink ice.
b. Rallying cry to save a whale named Zoni.
c. A new pasta available at no cost.
d. A delicious carbonated frozen beverage available only at QuikTrip.

Well, of course the answer is "d". Freezonis come in a variety of flavors, including cola, blue raspberry, white cherry and Puckerberry (sour apple).

If you think mixing fountain drinks at QuikTrip is fun, wait till you try mixing Freezonis. You can build layers of different flavors and colors in your transparent cup. You can even mix outside the species-mix with fountain drinks or add frozen Steamer to get a creamier Freezoni.

Freezonis - a chilling experience. (stolen from the Quick Trip website.)

My personal favorite is the Puckerberry. MMMMMMMM..... sooo good....

Tuesday Tunes: One Love

I love Sister Hazel. They are one of those bands when I just want mellow good music I go to. When I want something to cheer me up or make me happy I listen to them. They are another one of those bands that I wouldn't be able to tell you what my one favorite song they sing is. There are so many good ones to choose from.

One of my favorite Sister Hazel songs is One Love.

I hope you enjoy!

One Love
Sister Hazel (2003)

We are just children understand
Were two in a million
But precious grains of sand
We slip through the fingers
And dancing on the wind
We find each other

One you - one me
One chance for us to live
One heart - one soul
One life for us to give
One dream - one mind
One sky up above
One you - one me
One love
Yeah yeah yeah
One love

A star made a wish on us tonight
Hangin out in heaven
Inspired by our light
And she knows how it feels
To shine on all the world
And last forever

One you - one me
One chance for us to live
One heart - one soul
One life for us to give
One dream - one mind
One sky up above
One you - one me
One love
Yeah yeah yeah
One love

Surrender all your battles
Its only love that makes us matter

We are the possibilities
As endless as our imagination

One you - one me
One chance for us to live
One heart - one soul
One life for us to give
One dream - one mind
One sky up above
One you - one me
One love
Yeah yeah yeah
One love
Yeah yeah yeah
One love
One you - one me
One chance for us to live
One love
One you - one me

I nearly forgot...

Wow.... this was almost a close one.

Here I sit in my room in the dark listening to Kris Allen's new album (that drops tomorrow) and playing around on the internet when i realise that I haven't blogged today.

I nearly missed it. I nearly forgot. I nearly killed the whole month.

Good thing Lyle (my lovely macbook pro) has this backlit keyboard so I don't even have to turn the light on. I can just sit here and type up a quick post and go back to my music and such.

so here is my post. Oh, and I personally think the new album is GREAT! and my favorite songs on the album so far are the truth and can't stay away.

Mom went to the store and bought a couple of balloon's and a candle and a small tree. since we are renting here we can't plant a tree in the yard.

We let off balloons and lit a candle in his memory.

No Christmas Music...

Okay, don't get me wrong. I LOVE Christmas music. HOWEVER, I like to listen to my Christmas music during the Christmas season, the day after Thanksgiving to New Years. Now if you want to listen to "holiday" music I'm all for it. But Christmas music stays during Christmas. I don't want to burn out on it. I know I will, I always do.

Veterans Day

FROM WIKIPEDIA: Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, it is usually observed on November 11. However, if it occurs on a Sunday then the following Monday is designated for holiday leave, and if it occurs Saturday then either Saturday or Friday may be so designated.[1] It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.)

A day to honor our veterans. I like a quote that my cousin Chelsea posted on her facebook about today.

"Let us solemnly remember the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom." Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower (Declared Veterans Day November 11, 1954)

Tuesday Tunes on Monday

Tomorrow there is going to be a special post, so I decided to post Tuesday Tunes today. I know.... a little late in the day, but at least I got it in. *grins*

This week's tune is by a favorite band of mine, Train. One of those bands that i've loved from the beginning, and have a few favorite songs on every album. I have not fallen so much in love with one of their song's since Meet Virginia (1998). I'm pretty sure that mom's favorite is Drops of Jupiter *giggles*

So this week I introduce you to Hey Soul Sister. I hope that you enjoy it and maybe hear something new. The first single off their new album after a 3 year absence.

Hey Soul Sister
Train (2009)

Heeey heeeey heeeeey

Your lipstick stains on the front lobe of my left side brains
I knew I wouldn't forget you
And so I went and let you blow my mind
Your sweet moving
The smell of you in every single dream I dream
I knew when we collided you're the one I have decided
Who's one of my kind

Hey soul sister, ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo
The way you move ain't fair you know
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight

Heeey heeeey heeeey

Just in time, I'm so glad you have a one track mind le me
You gave my life direction
A game show love connection, we can't deny
I'm so obsessed
My heart is bound to beat right out my untrimmed chest
I believe in you, like a virgin, you're Madonna
And I'm always gonna wanna blow your mind

Hey soul sister, ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo
The way you move ain't fair you know
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight

Well you can cut a rug
Watching you is the only drug I need
So gangster, I'm so thug
You're the only one I'm dreaming of
You see I can be myself now finally
In fact there's nothing I cant be
I want the world to see you'll be with me

Hey soul sister, ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo
The way you move ain't fair you know
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight
Heeey heeeey heeeeey (tonight)
Heeey heeeey heeeeey (tonight)

Gramee brought 3 things home with her from the Odyssey Fall Festival

"Who's camera are you using? That looks like my camera. Are you using my camera?"

"must find jammies." in the middle of the entry to the living room. (notice the pile of clothes behind her, oh, and Gramee's shoes)

"look at me, I'm cute."

yeah... I had a headache and went to my bedroom not long after they got here. but I did get some pictures before i was gone. Gramee had fun with them at least.

demon coming out of my head

Have any of you seen the Buffy episode in season 6 Doublemeat Palace? well in that episode there is this demon that comes out of wig lady's head (a character in that episode). That is what my head feels like today. I've got a demon wanting to rip open my skull and come out of the back of my head.  I've been sitting here most of the day trying to figure out what I was going to post. I just couldn't concentrate on anything. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow... but hey, at least i got a post in today.
