Now that we are done with LOST we have started getting a new series from Netflix.
Picket Fences
This show's first season started in 1992, and ran for 4 seasons.
The town of Rome is a short distance from Green Bay, Wisconsin - close enough to hear the games on Sunday afternoons, but not close enough to keep normalcy from infiltrating the town. A lot of the usual happens in Rome, but in unusual ways. Home invasions are nothing new, but in Rome, the perpetrator leaves behind dirty bathwater, women's underwear and a rubber duck. Potatoes and household appliances become instruments of violence and death, the mayor is a bank robber sentenced to serve her term in office, the coroner likes his work a little too much and cows incubate human embryos. In the middle of all this weirdness is Sheriff Jimmy Brock ('Tom Skerritt'), wife Jill ('Kathy Baker') their children and a frequently bewildered and endearingly eccentric supporting cast that somehow manages to cope with the bizarre series of events that is day-to-day life in Rome
Cute show. Funny and quirky. Season 1 is the only one on DVD so far. Will be looking forward to more once it comes out...

New decorating fun...
have you ever spent hours online looking at design ideas???
Last month I FINALLY bought a new duvet and duvet cover. I know, I know... why do I need a duvet in Arizona, especially in the summer. Well in order to get the style and pattern of blanket I have been wanting for a while it's what I had to do. It will come in handy come winter when I'm cold. I also got such a good deal that I couldn't pass it up.
Now I just have to decide what I want to do with the walls. I originally wanted to one wall in a black and white damask wallpaper. Such as:
But after I got my bedding mom gave me a good idea. She thought that we could paint one wall with the branches and leaves.
Which got me looking online for ideas. Do you know that you can get custom made "wall stickers". I found some really cool stuff, and got some good ideas, but after seeing what Jenn and Jeremy just did to the girl's room (see five hoffmans: one year later) I'm thinking of recruiting them to help me out. I still have plenty of time to decide tho cause mom and dad still have to buy a house...
but yeah. Having much fun.

Follow Friday
This week's Follow Friday I'm introducing you guys to a blogger that I enjoy very much. She has 3 blogs I like to read and another that she contributes to.
april kennedy
HERE IS THE REAL ME. I am a designer jean wearing, newest Coach purse totting kind of gal. But nowhere near shallow. I keep my house clutter free, but keep my garage a complete mess. I am inspired daily and have the urge and need to create either through writing, sewing or crafting. I love kissing my babies and hubby and am fortunate to be a stay at home mom. I would love one day to be a labor and delivery nurse, hair dresser, flower arranger, or event planner. I have been married for almost 15 yrs to an amazing man. We laugh, cry and argue together. Our daughter, Kaia, is 11 and our son, Blake, is 6. We have a cute little purse puppy, Zoe, who is 3 and continues to pee on our carpets when we aren't home. I dream of raising content children, who are polite and above all compassionate towards others. People need to not be judged and I plan to teach that to my children. I believe in being honest, kind and charitable. I love social situations and meeting new people. Written on these pages are my thoughts...enjoy it. One day I will print it as a journal for MY posterity...as for now, it is a blog for ALL to read.
Hope you enjoy!

Addiction???
The first step is admitting it... Isn't it???
I cleaned out my junk underneath my bathroom sink... Well one of them at least. The other will come tomorrow. But look what I found.
lip stuff
I ended up throwing 12 away... Saved 4 for the girls... and the rest is stuff I actually use. (most of the stuff on the right side is new anyway)
So yeah. I've admitted it. I got rid of most of it...
*walks off shaking head in shame*

Random Wednesdays
Mom and I went out shopping today. Just ran my monthly errands and got some lunch. We went to Wal-Mart and then Payless to get shoes...
I think I bought out the shoe store. I ended up with 3 new pairs of filp-flops, one pair of black shoes, one pair of tennis shoes, and one pair of brown shoes. Once I got home I threw away 2 pairs of shoes and 3 pairs of flilp-flops. I'm really excited about new shoes. I don't remember the last time I bought shoes. and Payless is having such great sales right now.
New Random... Real Housewives of New Jersey... Drama, drama, drama....!

Tuesday Tunes
I'm a little odd... or so I've been told by my friends. I was talking to a few of them today and asked them what their favorite songs of the moment were. I was thinking about Tuesday Tunes and wondering what song I would do for the day. They both gave me my respective songs, and then I turned on my iPod... and pressed shuffle... *shrugs* i guess that means I'm odd.
After pressing shuffle I ended up with this song. Mandy Moore's Extraordinary.
Extraordinary
Mandy Moore (2007)
I was a bay tree
Quiet and unseen
I lived in stories but inside I kept a mystery
I was a starling
Nobody's darling
Flying around in perfect circles just for company
And now I'm ready
And now I'm ready
And now I'm ready to be extraordinary
A midnight airplane
A window blowing
I know I am another sparkle in the sky
I shine on copper
Still undiscovered
But you might see me in the corner of my eye
And now I'm ready
And now I'm ready
And now I'm ready to be extraordinary
Waking up to wake up someday
I am my own parade
Stopping off at a sidewalk cafe
Wind is playing in threes
Kick up confetti leaves
Seems as if it's all to say
And now I'm ready
And now I'm ready
And now I'm ready to be extraordinary
And now I'm ready
And now I'm ready
And now I'm ready to be extraordinary

Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War (it is celebrated near the day of reunification after the civil war), it was expanded after World War I to include American casualties of any war or military action. ~ Memorial Day Wiki

pictures...
The Hoffman 5 had new family pictures taken about a month ago. They have had the same person, Natalie take pictures of them, and the kids, since Ian was 6 weeks old. She does some beautiful pictures.
Maybe one of these days I need to have her take mine. Maybe I'd look halfway decent. *grins* just kidding. But I still think that I need to have her take my picture.

LOST
A few weeks ago we started watching the series LOST from the beginning. We started getting season 1 from Netflix and have made it thru all 2 and 3 and we are almost done with 4.
This series is driving us all insane. I don't think that any other television show has caused as many problems in our house as this one does.
It doesn't matter. Every disk we have watched has had at least one or two episodes on it that we start having a discussion about. Dad is driving Mom and I insane. He's tired of the whole back and forth story. The whole flashback thing and flash forward thing... He just wants to watch it from beginning to end. He says it would be a better show if it was shown that way.
Hello... It wouldn't have run for 5 seasons that way. At the end of season 2 you would still be yelling at the television cause they aren't off the stupid island yet. Just like you are now, at the end of season 4...
So yeah... LOST...
If you haven't seen it I don't suggest watching it with anyone. Watch it by yourself and then come to me and we'll talk about it.

Follow Friday
This week's follow friday is a blog I just found recently, and had to go back to the beginning to read it...
An Inconvenient Tumor ...but aren't they all?
Christie is a 29-year-old Los Angeles, CA native with grad school smarts, a knack for shocking honesty and a polarizing sarcastic wit. She has a zest for life, contagious laughter and would fight to the death for her closest friends and family. Most recently, she is fighting a new battle – against her fiance's recently diagnosed brain cancer. This blog follows the story of Christie and Bryan and their commitment to life, each other and kicking cancer's big fat ass.
It's heartbreaking the trials these two are having to go thru right now. But they are such inspirations for all.

Random Wednesday
I tried and tried to come up with a blog post for today. But with my foggy brain I just couldn't figure anything out. Finally I just asked Jack (a very good friend of mine in Northern Ireland) and she told me that I should write about my favorite cartoon as a kid.
I thought... hm... I've never done that. So yeah. Lets try that one out. I went to 80's Cartoon Central to see the list of cartoons from when I was a kid and figure out what was my favorite.
I couldn't decided. So... I made a list of my favorite ones. I hope you enjoy walking down memory lane with me.
Alvin and the Chipmunks
Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers
Duck Tales
Fraggle Rock
Garfield and Friends
Inspector Gadget
Jetsons
The Littles
Rainbow Bright
Richie Rich
Smurfs
Snorks
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
ThunderCats
Transformers
who is now singing the Inspector Gadget theme song in her head...
